CHRIS Todd is keeping his team selection strictly under wraps for the biggest game in Eastleigh’s history.

But it’s safe to say that young goalkeeper Lewis Noice is assured of a place on the bench for Saturday's FA Cup third round visit of Bolton Wanderers.

Michael Poke, signed by the Spitfires on a six-month loan deal in July from League Two neighbours Portsmouth, has returned to his parent club.

Youth graduate Noice, in turn, has been recalled from his loan with Southern League outfit Yate Town.

Todd is hoping the Spitfires have not seen the last of 30-year-old former Saints ’keeper Poke, who was initially brought in to cover for an injury to first-choice No1 Ross Flitney.

“Michael’s gone back to Portsmouth. He is their player until the end of the season, but we are trying to sort something out,” he said.

“It’s not going to be another loan deal, but he’d be an asset to us if we could do something.

“It’s got to be right for both parties.”

With Jamie Turley back in full training and Lee Cook over a neck problem, Todd has a full squad to choose from - barring cup-tied winger Matty Fanimo - for the first time in his three-month tenure.

Inevitably it means some players being disappointed.

“A full squad is something I’ve never had before and it’s great to have competition for places, but obviously there is a selection to be made,” he said.

“Everyone’s champing at the bit to play, they really are. This is the club's biggest game ever, but I can only put 11 players out there.

“It took until the last training session today but, in my head, I’ve already picked the team.

“We’ve worked really hard on team shape, exploring different avenues with different players in different positions.”
