There is no shortage of talent in the West Indies team but I cannot see them winning a Test this summer.

Their players are all good athletes but they seem to lack the discipline needed for Test cricket.

The injuries to Ramnaresh Sarwan, pictured below, and Shivnarine Chanderpaul meant they were without the two players who would have had the application to bat for long periods of time in the second Test, and the result was a record defeat at Headingley.

Without Sarwan and Chanderpaul, the West Indies' batting line up is now a collection of flat-track bullies because they are terrible if the conditions are at all helpful to the England seamers.

The batsmen get out to basic mistakes, like a lack of foot movement against the swinging ball, and the bowlers bowl too many four-balls - Corey Collymore seems to be the only one who can land the ball in roughly the right area consistently.

They have a rich history to live up to but the likes of Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose and Malcolm Marshall were very disciplined as well as being very attacking fast bowlers.
