Saints fans are set to be charged a staggering £41 to watch their side take on one of the worst teams in Premier League history.

Bottom of the table Aston Villa, who have picked up just 16 points from 31 games, are charging the incredible fee for Saints supporters wanting to head to Villa Park.

Over-65s, under-21s and students still have to fork out £33, while it is £19 for under-18s and £12 for under-8s.

Premier League clubs have agreed to a £30 cap on away tickets for the three seasons following this one after complaints from supporters over issues such as this.

However, in the meantime it seems Villa will try to make the most of their remaining time in the top flight by charging the fees for the allocation of 2,966 tickets they have given Saints for the game on Saturday, April 23.

To add insult to wallet related injury, Villa fans were charged £33/34 for the reverse fixture at St Mary’s.

The other price categories were at least a little more comparable, with over-65s and 17-21-year-olds £28/£30, under-17s £19/21 and under-11s £10/£12.
