POOLE Town have agreed terms with six of last season's squad as manager Tom Killick prepares for life in the Vanarama National League South.
Ex-AFC Totton trio Jamie Whisken, Carl Pettefer and Richard Gillespie are set to stay at Tatnam along with Michael Walker, Jamie Gleeson and Luke Burbidge.
Negotiations are “ongoing” with all bar three of last season’s Southern Premier title-winning squad.
Ex-AFC Bournemouth striker Alan Connell has not been offered fresh terms, loan striker Tony Lee has returned to parent club Eastleigh and Jack Dickson will be playing in the United States.
Killick said: “I am hopeful we can agree terms with three or four others over the next couple of days and then we’re optimistic a couple more will follow soon after.
"I have had no suggestion from anyone that they want to leave the club.”
The Dolphins have missed out on transfer target Justin Bennett. The prolific former Gosport Borough marksman has signed for his hometown club Salisbury, newly promoted to the Southern One South & West.
