FORMER Saint Gaston Ramirez can finally play for new club Middlesbrough in England.

Boro have received international clearance for Ramirez and fellow newcomer Brad Guzan to play in the United Kingdom.

The new arrivals have featured in pre-season but only abroad due to a delay in their paperwork.

The Uruguayan midfielder and American goalkeeper have now been signed off and will be available for tomorrow's final friendly against Real Sociedad.

A club statement read: "The relevant permissions have now been secured for summer signings Brad Guzan and Gaston Ramirez to play in the UK.

"The duo have only featured on foreign soil for Boro this summer, but the club has now received the green light for the pairing."

Ramirez was Saints' record signing four years ago this month when he arrived from Bologna in a blizzard of hype.

But he was to turn into an enigmatic figure, and rarely appeared for Saints in his last three years at St Mary's.

Joining Boro on loan last January, Ramirez rediscovered his footballing Mojo to help the Teesiders win automatic promotion to the Premier League.
