PETER Adeniyi was a handy player for Eastleigh in the Conference South – and it turns out he’s a decent team boss too.
Now player/manager of Carshalton Athletic, the towering midfielder led the Robins to a 10-0 hammering of Godalming Town on Monday.
It lifted them second in the Ryman Division South and was their second highest competitive win.
Adeniyi, whose midfield partnership with Anthony Riviere was one of the standout memories of Ian Baird’s Eastleigh reign, said: “I’ve been in football a good while and that rates in the top-three performances I’ve ever been involved in.
“But we must stay humble because, regardless of the score, you still only pick up three points for one win.
“We’ll enjoy it, but we need to keep our feet on the ground and work hard.”
