AFC STONEHAM warmed up for tomorrow's (Tuesday, 7.45pm) Hampshire FA Senior Cup quarter-final at Southern Premier outfit Basingstoke Town with a big win against another north Hampshire side.

The Purples made it 14 goals scored in their last three league and cup games with a 6-1 thrashing of Fleet Spurs in Sydenhams One.

Ash Ledger lit up the Elliotts Arena with a hat-trick backed by two-goal Duncan Bray and Chris Manning.

Stoneham are sixth, a point shy of Shaftesbury who suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat at New Milton Town.

Having gone ten games without a win, New Milton stopped the rot as Steve Flynn and Dom Falco wiped out Seb Dawes’ opener for the visitors.

Hamble Club remain in pole position thanks to a windswept 2-0 home success over Totton & Eling engineered by first-half goals from Nathan Lynch and Mo Nyang.

The mighty Monks are five points clear of chasing Baffins Milton Rovers, who were without a game, and a further two ahead of third-placed Laverstock & Ford who slipped up 3-2 at Christchurch.

Dave Wrixton, Andy Masson and Steve Rattue handed fourth-placed Christchurch a timely boost to their promotion hopes.

Romsey Town twice took the lead at home to Ringwood through Sam Carter and Wayne Boud, but goals from Lee Clark, Matt Steer and Lee Vint sent the visitors home with the points.

Eighteenth-placed Hythe & Dibden have narrowed the gap on Folland Sports to just one point after beating the Planemakers 2-1 at Clayfields.

Ollie Dennett and a Terry Cox screamer secured three vital points for the Watersiders. Ethan Millar netted Follands’ reply.
