FORMER AFC Totton skipper Liam Hibberd enjoyed a winning start to his Andover Town career.

He and fellow new signing Jordan Brackstone were handed debuts as Town overcame Bashley 2-0 for only their third home league win of the Sydenhams Premier campaign.

Chances were few and far between in an uninspiring first half, but the game burst to life after the break with two Town goals and both teams reduced to ten men.

Andover took the lead on the hour with a fine individual strike from birthday boy Adam Grange.

Two superlative saves from Town keeper Lloyd Thomas protected the lead and there were fireworks three minutes from time when Kabba Jack brought an angry response from Town captain Liam Gilbert for his tackle on McCaulie Stubbs. Jack retaliated and both players were shown straight red.

A frantic finale unfolded and it was Harrison Fay who dealt Bash a killer blow six minutes into added time.

Andover player/assistant manager Zach Glasspool made a welcome return off the subs' bench after undergoing a back operation.

*Fawzi Saadi struck late for Bournemouth Poppies at Amesbury Town, but it didn't spare his side a 2-1 defeat.

Second-half goals from Ben Cook and Dave Parry did the damage.

Poppies' Dorset neighbours Hamworthy United also lost to Wiltshire opposition, beaten 2-1 at Bemerton Heath.

Scott Joyce and Richard Jackson registered for the Harlequins with Connor Phillips bagging the Hammers' reply.
