AFC STONEHAM are on the lookout for a new general club secretary.

The vacancy has arisen due to current club secretary Geoff Smith wishing to take a very well-earned rest after a phenomenal 50 years' service.

Smith's replacement will work primarily with the Purples' two men's teams in the Sydenhams Wessex and Wyvern Combination leagues.

The role will be supported by two other youth secretaries dealing with the other 21 teams within the rapidly expanding Sydenhams One club.

"Geoff Smith will still be very much involved with the club and will hand over duties whilst always being available to the new person for help and support on a day-to-day basis," explained Stoneham chairman Mark Stupple.

"AFC Stoneham are going from strength to strength and recently presented to around 100 people their plans and ambitions for the future.

"It includes increasing the number of teams prior to moving into a brand new facility in a couple of years.

"The general club secretary's role will be an integral part of the club's plans and ambitions."

The new secretary must be well organised, enthusiastic, possess strong communication skills, be computer literate and very personable.

Interested parties should contact Mark Stupple, in confidence, on 07764 882966 or at chairman@afcstoneham.co.uk
