YOUNGSTER Josh Sims has become the SEVENTH Saints man in the past week to be called up for England.

The 19-year-old, who turns 20 next Tuesday, has been drafted into the England Under-20s side, replacing Charlton's Erzi Konsa Ngoyo, who is injured.

It is the first time Sims, who has previously played for England Under-17s and 18s, has been handed a call-up at this age group level.

It follows James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond's maiden selections for the England senior side, making it four Saints' men in the Three Lions team alongside Ryan Bertrand and Fraser Forster.

Both Redmond and Ward-Prowse made their national team debuts last night as second-half substitutes in the 1-0 defeat to world champions Germany in Dortmund.

Saints are also represented by Sam McQueen and Jack Stephens in the England Under-21s.

That means Sims becomes the seventh man to be given the national team nod, which will certainly come as a moment of pride for Saints, who pride themselves on bringing through youth players.

Sims will link up with the team ahead of a busy seven-day period in France, during which they will play three games against Portugal (today), France (25 March) and Senegal (28 March) as they prepare for the Under-20s World Cup in South Korea.
