SYDENHAMS Premier new boys Hamble Club will kick off the 2017/18 season on home territory.

The Monks, newly-promoted Division One champions, will open the doors of ‘The Abbey’ to Newport IW on Tuesday, August 1.

With the FA Cup getting up and running on Saturday, August 5, the Wessex League have again opted for a midweek start to the campaign. It allows clubs to get a game under their belts before their extra preliminary round ties.

Champions Portland United host Team Solent in their Tuesday night opener, while Petersfield Town – relegated from the Southern One Central – are at home to Premier new boys Baffins Milton Rovers.

Weather-permitting, the league aim to finish the season on April 21, 2018.
