TEAM Solent were struck down by two bolts of White lightning as Blackfield & Langley continued their 100 per cent start to the Sydenhams Premier Division campaign.

Ex-Saint White scored in the 35th and 65th minutes at Test Park to seal the Watersiders’ 2-0 victory, keeping them top of the table with eight straight wins.

It was another blow for rock-bottom Solent who have picked up just one point from a possible 27.

Sharp-shooting White has overtaken Fareham Town’s injury-stricken frontman Simon Woods at the top of the Premier scoring charts with 13 goals from nine appearances.

Blackfield are five points clear of second-placed Sholing, who gained revenge for their FA Cup defeat to Alresford by beating them 2-0 in the league.

Defender Dan Miller prodded in Micky Hubbard’s 42nd-minute corner at the far post for 1-0 and Sholing wrapped up the points on 79 minutes when Lee Wort marked his 350th club appearance with a typically clinical finish.

Fareham Town’s woes intensified with a lack-lustre 5-0 defeat to Bournemouth Poppies at Cams Alders - Sam Makhloufi (3) and Eder Batista (2) inflicting the damage. It was tumbling Town’s fifth straight league loss.

Portland United boss Simon Browne admitted the reigning Sydenhams Premier champions have conceded “some pretty crumby goals” this season after losing 2-1 at Bashley.

The Islanders had skipper Lewis Whyton sent off as two-goal Kabba Jack fired Bash on course for victory ahead of Ryan McKechnie’s late reply.

“It seems that all the goals we’re conceding are from mistakes at the moment,” bemoaned Browne.

In Division One, dual-signed Poole Town striker Richard Gillespie bounced off the bench to score twice as leaders Christchurch caned Totton & Eling 7-1.

Max Wilcock (2), Jon Blake, Grant Cormack and Luke Stone also found the net for Priory.
