LOSING their management team and chairman in quick succession has not got Folland Sports down.

The Sydenhams One basement boys triumphed in the face of adversity on Saturday, fighting back from 2-0 behind for a gutsy 3-2 win Verwood Town.

It was only the second time the Planemakers had won in the league all season – and, cruelly, their only other success was expunged from the record books.

Under former boss Bjay Green, they came out on top 2-0 at Weymouth Reserves in August, only for the Terras’ second string to pull out of the league a couple of weeks later.

Green and his assistant Richard Elmes have since left the club, quickly followed by chairman Roy Kingdon.

But with Jason Simmonds and Bradley Hartill running things on the field and secretary Garry Budden taking care of business off it, the Hamble boys are determined to fight on.

Goals by James Guthrie and Russell Dyer had seemingly put Verwood well in control at Potterne Park on Saturday – but never-say-die Follands had other ideas.

A brace from Charlie Cooper hauled them back on terms before Krysty Sullivan-Rose sent Planemakers' spirits soaring with a priceless winner.

Victory draws Follands level on five points with second-to-bottom East Cowes Vics, who were well beaten 5-1 at home by AFC Stoneham. Will Harris, Chris Manning, Luke Beckerley, Tom Hogan and Josh Clark got the Purples' goals.

Follands are back in action this Saturday (October 28, 3pm) at home to Fawley AFC.
