ANDREW Boyce’s return from a one-man suspension gives Eastleigh boss Richard Hill a pleasing headache for tomorrow's FREE-ENTRY game at home to Solihull Moors (Tuesday, 7.45pm).

In the absence of the former Grimsby Town centre-back, fit-again Ryan Cresswell made an outstanding return to first-team duty alongside Callum Howe in Saturday’s thrilling 3-2 Vanarama National League win over Gateshead.

Recognising that the manager now has big decisions to make, Cresswell – sidelined for a year with knee trouble – said: “We’ve got centre-halves at this club that could play for any team in this league – and higher.

“We’re here to put our bodies on the line and that’s what we will do for the rest of the season.”

Describing his long spell out as “a nightmare”, Cresswell admitted to feeling emotional after Ben Strevens’ dramatic stoppage-time winner had steered Eastleigh back on track after three straight league and cup defeats.

“When Gateshead pulled it back to 2-2, we were devastated,” he said. “But we fought to the death and credit to everyone in that dressing room. We deserved the three points.

"Now we've won, it's overwhelming. That emotion can't be beat."

Eastleigh right-back Gavin Hoyte still has two of a three-match ban to serve, but the Spitfires have a glorious chance to build on Saturday’s success under the Silverlake lights tomorrow.

Richard Money's Solihull have won just two of their 16 league matches this term and crashed to the bottom of the VNL pile with a 4-2 loss at fellow strugglers Guiseley on Saturday.

Eastleigh, up to 16th, hope to get plenty of supporters - old and new - behind them for another of their popular free-entry taster matches.

“These games go a long way to promote the club to potential new supporters that may not otherwise know about us or don’t realise quite what we have going on down here in Stoneham Lane,” explained club CEO Mark Jewell.

“I think we all understand why we do these promotional games now.

"It's an essential activity to expand the club’s popularity and to ultimately create a substantial base for the football club for many years to come.”
