Trojans’ strength and determination earned them a bonus point victory from a titanic London 3 South-West home battle with Old Tiffinians.

The Stoneham Lane side struck early as Charlie Pooley gathered a crossfield kick from Joby Kochanowski to touch down.

Trojans lost the lead to a couple of Tiffinians’ penalties but were back in front at the break as Tom Stevenson flew down the wing to cross the line with Toogi Long adding the extra two points.

Dave Linton was next over the whitewash as Trojans mauled another five points from a five-metre lineout.

The teams struck a penalty each but Trojans pounced as Tiffinians began to tire and Kochanowski dived over from a quickly taken penalty.

Long added the extra two points and kicked successfully again after Stevenson scored his second try – Jack Groves getting the final pass away after being stopped just short of the line.

The gap between second from top and second from bottom in SW3 was eventually reflected when New Milton entertained Old Cranleighans at Ashley Rec.

Milton did their utmost to give high-flying Cranleighans a game and dominated much of the possession in the first half.

The home side were still in it at the break – trailing 17-7 with Tom Gould crossing the line and Chris Conacher converting in style with a drop kick from the touchline.

However, the Surrey side had shown how clinical they could be when they did have the ball and went on to win 62-12, running in 11 tries.

Milton’s second half points came when Ben Russell broke through the defence from a lineout.
