THE Sydenhams Wessex League will still have three names in the hat for tomorrow's (1pm) FA Vase fifth round draw.

The merry Monks of Hamble Club can already start preparing for the last 16 after a magnificent 4-1 win at Hereford-based outfit Westfields.

That’s some achievement for Ben Kneller’s men, who are gracing the national competition for the first time in their history.

Hamble came from behind to go 3-1 up through Nathan Lynch (2) and Nick Watts before Westfields were reduced to ten men.

Watts then struck again to seal a memorable victory before the frustrated hosts had a second player dismissed in stoppage time.

"We are inconsistent but on our day we can put in that sort of performance," said ecstatic Monks boss Kneller.

"We’ve got some good players here who have played at higher clubs and they enjoy it."

Blackfield & Langley face a replay at Bracknell Town on Tuesday (7.45pm) having been held 3-3 after extra time in a thriller at Gang Warily.

Glenn Howes’ Watersiders played a huge chunk of the game with ten men after goalkeeper Brad Snelling had been sent off on 38 minutes, yet they took the lead three times through Sam Poole, Rudy Plummer and Sam Griffin.

The third Wessex side, Newport IW, had their tie against Bradford Town postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at St George’s Park. It has been rescheduled for this Saturday (January 13, 3pm).
