AFC TOTTON rose to seventh in the Evo-Stik South West with a 1-0 win at North Leigh last night.
The Stags dominated but, with time running out, it looked as if they would live to regret a first-half penalty miss by Nathaniel Sherborne.
On 22 minutes North Leigh’s goalkeeper flattened Matt Bozier on the left of the box and the referee pointed to the spot.
Sherborne stepped up to take it, but the veteran striker became the latest in a growing list of Stags who have fluffed their lines from 12 yards, firing the penalty disappointingly wide.
However, with North Leigh down to ten men following a second yellow for Anthony Simpson, Totton’s neat play and territorial dominance was rewarded with an 89th-minute winner.
Tony Lee played a lovely ball through to Craig Feeney who slipped the ball past the advancing keeper into the bottom corner
