ANDOVER New Street will grace the Sydenhams Premier Division next season – but their neighbours Andover Town won’t be with them.

Town, who finished top-flight runners-up to Blackfield & Langley, have paid a high price for backing out of promotion to the Southern League after the FA’s provisional constitution had been drawn up.

Instead of going up in the world, the Portway outfit have been placed in Wessex One next term along with bottom-three trio Petersfield Town, Newport IW and Amesbury Town.

With Blackfield promoted, it leaves a provisional 20-strong Premier Division, with Christchurch, New Street and Tadley Calleva all promoted.

Division One will comprise of 19 teams.

League constitutions at Step 5 and 6 level are subject to appeal by clubs. The final SWL line-ups will be ratified at the annual general meeting on June 25.
