AFC TOTTON have signed another member of Salisbury’s promotion-winning side.

Eddie Perrett linked up with the Stags as Louis Langdown’s squad returned for pre-season training yesterday.

The former Bemerton and Amesbury utility man spent three very successful seasons with Salisbury and, along with fellow new Totton arrival Stuart Green, was part of the Whites side that finished runners-up in the Evo-Stik South West.

Perrett has also played with another of the Stags’ quality summer additions, striker Justin Bennett.

Talking about his arrival at the Testwood Stadium following Saturday’s first training session, Perrett said: “I spoke to Louis and Adam (Wilde, assistant) at length a few weeks back and knew straight away I wanted to come.

"The way they spoke about football and their plans for the team and how I fit into that was a massive plus for me.

"I’ve spent three years at a very good non-League club and enjoyed my football, I want to repeat that here.

"After today’s session you can tell the team spirit is good and the gaffer's going to work us hard.

"Having Benno and Greener here will obviously help as we get on well and Benno can be my taxi driver! But, in all seriousness, I’m looking forward to getting to know the lads an playing at AFC Totton."

Manager Langdown added: "Eddie has always been on our radar and we are happy to add Mr Versatile to our squad.

"We have a plan for where we would like Eddie to play, but the fact he’s so comfortable in a number of positions having him here opens up some flexibility to our starting line-up.

"He’s a competitor and the right age (27) to help our younger players with his experience.

"We’re expecting him to chip in with a few goals too."
