GOALKEEPER Ben Dudzinski turned in a man-of-the-match performance for AFC Totton last night - to frustrate his own club!

Although National League new boys Havant & Waterlooville eventually ran out 2-1 winners at the Testwood Stadium, they had a devil of a job beating their No2 goalkeeper Dudzinski who filled in for Totton in the absence of the injured Shane Murphy.

The Stags took a first-half lead from the penalty spot after defender Callum Chugg had been bundled over in the area – new signing Stuart Green doing the honours from 12 yards.

And with Dudzinski on top form, saving from the likes of Nicke Kabamba, Josh Huggins and Theo Lewis, the Hawks had to wait until the 53rd minute before summer arrival Alfie Pavey levelled with a glancing header.

A friendly stalemate looked on the cards until the 88th minute when ex-Hartlepool and Lowestoft man Dudzinski was beaten by another header, this time by Dan Strugnell.

Tweeting about Dudzinski, Totton boss Louis Langdown said: “What a top man & goalkeeper. Thank you for your professionalism this eve & the saves.”

Honours ended even, 1-1, between Winchester City and Steve Claridge’s Salisbury at the Simplyhealth City Ground.

After a goalless first half, summer signing Pablo Haysham gave Salisbury a 47th-minute lead.

City hit back 12 minutes later through new arrival Reece Rusher, a former Salisbury player.

Winchester boss Craig Davis reflected: "In the end a creditable 1-1 draw for us against a very good outfit.

"Very grateful to Steve Claridge for bringing his side and taking it as seriously as he did.

"It made for a very good test for us. Likewise it was acknowledged it was a very good test for them too, so that was good to hear."
