EASTLEIGH continued their unbeaten pre-season with a 3-1 win at Bostik (Isthmian) Premier Division side Leatherhead this afternoon.
They laid the foundations for victory with two goals inside six first-half minutes.
Ex-Saint Oscar Gobern scored the first with a tidy finish from the edge of the box with 33 minutes gone.
Pretty soon the Tanners’ defence was breached again when Paul McCallum headed on for Ben Williamson to take the ball round player/boss Nikki Bull in the Leatherhead goal.
With manager Andy Hessenthaler ringing the changes, the Spitfires made it 3-0 early in the second half when McCallum headed in Mark Yeates’ corner.
The Tanners pulled one back on the hour with an Elliot Benyon volley.
Eastleigh return to the Silverlake on Tuesday (7.30pm) for what promises to be a tough test against Hessenthaler’s former club Gillingham of Sky Bet League One.
