LOAN star Mikael Ndjoli says he is benefiting from the wisdom of former Rangers striker Kris Boyd at Kilmarnock.

Now in his third spell at Rugby Park, Boyd was the top scorer in the Scottish Premiership last season with 18 goals.

Cherries ace Ndjoli is on a half-season loan to Killie and last month scored his first goals for the East Ayrshire side in Scottish League Cup wins over Dumbarton and Spartans.

He followed that up with his maiden Premiership goal in the 2-0 home victory over St Johnstone at the start of August, sending a stunning right-footed drive into the top-left corner from 20 yards.

That effort increased to four goals in six appearances his tally for the season.

Ndjoli told The Herald: “I’m learning from Kris Boyd every day in training.

“Every training session so far he has pulled me aside and told me what he thinks I can do in and around the box.

“He’s told me ‘touch and finish’. Sometimes I take an extra touch in training but every day I’m learning from him.

“The manager (Steve Clarke) has worked with a bunch of young players and helped them kick on in their careers.”
