SAINTS loanee Wesley Hoedt has hinted that he would like to remain at Celta Vigo beyond the end of the season.

The Dutch defender joined the Spanish side on loan during the January transfer window after failing to play a single game under Ralph Hasenhuttl’s management.

His Celta Vigo career hasn’t started the way he would have liked, as he got himself sent off on his debut and has failed to help them win a game since.

Hoedt's loan side have the option to buy him permanently when the season comes to an end in May.

He told Faro de Vigo: “At the moment, the decision isn’t mine. It depends on how the season goes, first.

“I like being here, but I still have a contract with Southampton. I’m currently playing for Celta and I will give my all to play my best football.

“Like I said, we’ll see what happens in the summer, but, of course, I would like to continue in this great club.”
