SAINTS striker Guido Carrillo is said to be stuck in ‘limbo’ on the south coast.

Spanish outlet AS claim that the former Monaco man has been left in the dark over the next step in his career.

Carrillo was left at home by manager Ralph Hasenhuttl for Saints’ pre-season trip to Austria last week.

There is also no sign of the 28-year-old on the club’s website.

The Argentine was signed by Mauricio Pellegrino back in January 2018 for £19.1m and then linked up with the former Saints boss at Leganes for a season-long loan spell last summer having been shipped out by Mark Hughes.

It was previously reported by the Daily Echo that Leganes have made a formal approach to take the striker back on a temporary basis.

However, Saints are holding out for a permanent deal as they want to recoup as much as they can before he enters the final year of his contract in 2020.

During his time in La Liga last year, Carrillo managed to net six goals from 33 appearances.
