Saints stars go out on loan

SAINTS' financial problems came back to haunt them yesterday as they off-loaded star striker Grzegorz Rasiak and midfielder Rudi Skacel.

Czech Skacel has gone to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent move.

Prolific Polish hitman Rasiak has joined Bolton on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move.

Rasiak and Skacel were two of the club's top earners. Raziak was believed to be on around £12,000 a week and Skacel is also on top wages.

That saving in wages, combined with the potential fees for the two most expensive purchases in the Saints squad, proved too much for the cash-strapped club to turn down.

Saints tried to put a brave face on the deal by saying it was also a way of easing the log-jam of strikers' but in reality it was another massive dent to their promotion hopes.

Rasiak scored 21 goals for the club last season and eight this campaign.

Acting chief executive Lee Hoos said: "It is a good opportunity for Greg to make his mark in the Premier League and it is a good deal for us. Greg wanted to go so it makes sense for both of us."

The log-jam' sited is due to the return of Marek Saganowski, who scored three goals in 15 appearances this season before his injury, and David McGoldrick who has returned from a loan spell at League One Port Vale where he scored twice in 18 appearances.

Joint caretaker manager John Gorman added: "We wish Greg well but we just move on. We have a lot of good strikers here so we feel we still have the firepower to mount a promotion challenge.

"Marek Saganowski has been working hard in training and is desperate to get back in the side and David McGoldrick is champing at the bit. He is desperate for first-team football but could not get close because there was a bottle-neck of strikers."

The other strikers at the club are Stern John, who has scored ten times in 18 starts and six sub appearances but hasn't netted since his hat-trick against Hull almost eight weeks ago and Bradley Wright-Phillips who has eight goals in 24 starts and six sub appearances.

Rasiak, whose total for Saints was 33 goals in 64 starts and 19 sub appearances, had expressed concern earlier in the season that his international place with Poland at the European Championship was in jeopardy this summer if George Burley left him out.

He was omitted from his country's training group next week and the 29-year-old was happy to make the move.

He said: "This is a big chance for me to play in the Premier League and to improve as a player. And Euro 2008 played a big part in my decision.

"It is only on loan at the moment. I still have two and a half years on my contract with Southampton but if I do well and score goals then who knows what the summer will bring? The European Championships are very important to me and if I am playing for a Premiership team I have a bigger chance to be part of it.

"It was not an easy decision and I thought about it for a long time. I have really enjoyed my time here and it is a good club and a nice place to live. I have a lot of respect for Southampton and for the fans who stuck by me even when I was not playing.

"I scored 33 goals in just under two years and that is a good record especially considering I had spells out of the team.

"I really hope Southampton go on and win promotion."

One minute the club is in financial crisis, the next Crouch says everything is fine, so why are we getting rid of our highest earners when they are part of the first team plans?

Just be honest with us. Stop all this posturing and spin.

You can also see why they have delayed getting in a new manager (if we ever get one?) as he would have seen players leaving the club without his permission. No manager with a backbone wants that. So the club have done it and no doubt we'll end up with a "yes man" as our next boss.

Crouch, Hoos & Lawrie, please stop lying to the fans.

Let's just hope that the FA Cup money, the Burley compensation, and the savings from the Rasiak / Skacel loans get Saints back on level terms financially. Winning at Bristol Rovers is vital and is all we have to play for realistically so come on boys don't let us down, we need the cash!

I agree that they seem to have held off from appointing the manager to make some unpopular decisions. It is quite likely that an appointment will soon be made now. Let's just hope it's the right appointment!

Hear hear.

Things are messy at the moment and it is largely out of the fans control (the only real influence we have is if pack the stadium every home game like Sunderland did last season.) We're here for the long haul.

We went down at the wrong time as soon after that the Premiership TV deal was re-negotiated, widening the gulf between Championship and Premier league.

We either need new investment or someone inspirational in charge next.

Strap yourslef in Saints fans.

I for one will be renewing my season ticket straight away. I urge everyone else to do the same.

Saints fans should forget all about the premier league. The club have no money and will never mount a serious challenge without the long promised new investment.

The club last night effectively sell their two best players and still harp on about a promotion challenge! I think it is high time the club come clean and let us all know what the true state of affairs is!!

Most sensible supporters will be realistic if they are told the truth instead of this constant stream of drivel and spin that everything is rosy in the garden.

Until now most fans have been positive about the clubs prospects but this latest turn of events is pointing more and more towards League 1 and financial meltdown than a return to the top flight.

Please just tell us all the truth and don't insult our intelligence with anymore with cynical stories about investment (Paul Allen etc!) aimed at covering up the facts and trying to sell more season tickets.

Not great news, but let's look at it;
1)20k off the wage bill.
2)Transfer money for next season 3-4 million?
3)Rasiak is a lazy git.
4)Skacel has never lived up to his potential.
5)Get some of these young, hungry kids in from the reserves.
6)We are still the best football club on the south coast.
7)Twichy is still the ugliest manager in football.

bad night for us but tell me whats going to happen in Gayboydamak Daddy insists he sells now? Can you really be that lucky to get another sugar daddy who wants to play with a little broken toy for a while?

Firstly, Rasiak and Skacel WANTED to go, to further their international careers. Can't blame them, they're not getting any younger!!

Secondly, they weren't really part of the first team anymore so I don't think it's a huge loss.

Don't get me wrong, I would rather they'd have stayed but that's their decision. I'm just glad we kept hold of the others!

I don't think we need money to survive on a day to day basis but we are a club that has no more parachute payments and not much else to cover it so it all helps. So when Crouch says we're fine, we probably are. But a little bit of extra cash won't hurt.

I'll be at Palace tomorrow and will be looking forward to the way the team plays. I reckon if they go with pretty much the same team/formation as Tuesday, we could do well.

As I have said before, fans need to be realistic about the club's predicament. This is designed to get us through until the summer when presumably we have the choice of new investment and another rebuilding job with a new manager (probably Adams who has undeniably done well in the past with no money), or wholesale sales starting with Rasiak and Skacel, followed by Dyer, Surman etc and the introduction of some more journeymen on lower wages. I still think that a combination of our young talent and judicious purchases from the lower leagues could produce a team capable of promotion. That's what Ipswich and Bristol City have done, but obviously we have to hope the new manager has the ability do make that work. Tough times ahead probably, but that will make the success all the sweeter when it comes.

We need every penny we can find and I have a feeling that we will not be appointing a new manager this season - it looks like Gorman and Dodd will be in charge until the end of the season and who knows, maybe next season as well!
The compen for Burley from the SFA will have been banked, never to be touched!
Time for some realism - the dark days are not going away and we are in it for some time to come.
Positive note to finish - if we play the rest of season like we played on Tuesday night against Norwich, then Gorman will do for me in these worrying times.

I would prefer Nicholas Anelka!!!

He hasn't really had a fair go at Premiership level so I guess it's a gamble. Certainly in this league I believe if he starts 40 games he will get you 20+ goals, not pretty goals, but goals all the same.

Whethere that translates in the premier league, it will be intersting to find out.

There is no way in the world we are, they can attract players like Defoe, Nugent, Glen Johnson, Utaka and we cant even get Daily or infact anyone. I think we all know what would happen if we played each other tomorrow wudnt we and it wouldnt be pretty for us!!!!!!! I think we just need to accept that we are now a second rate Championship club and unless we get a vast amount of Investment thats what we will always be!!!!!!!

after hearing the news about rasiak and skacel last nite and reading headlines this morning i was very worried about the state of the club but after reading sdome posts i must admit things are starting to look up.
1. we have big earners of wage bill (but why we didnt sell is beyond me)
2. they never played week in week out did they? and when they they never set the world alight.
3. nows the chance to use our world famous acadamey again. i know its not the best to play kids, but if they are good enouhh they are old enough.
lallana was good last season, mcgoldrick just wants to play, oli lancashire seems good in the reserves, dyer will be back soon. so i dont think its all doom and gloom.

Not too fussed by Rasiak's departure really. He's had enough of us that's for sure - and I can't blame him. Top scorer last season by a country mile and finds himself on the bench this time! He must be totally fed up, particularly with a Euro Championships on the horizon....We've got plenty of cover up front - maybe Euell could play there at some stage. He was originally a forward of some repute, if I recall. Certainly get him away from midfield in any case. Perhaps what is concerning me most here, is that although Skacel is essentially a left midfielder, he has been slotting in at fullback most of the times he's played this season. So, less than a week after Greg Vignal breaks his arm and is sidelined for a month, we let Skacel leave. All we have now at left back is the kid from Villa, who let's face it didn't look upto much anyway - and is only with us for a month anyway! What if Villa take him back without allowing us to extend? Makin, who could play at LB if necessary is still a month or so away and Wright, well say no more! All this just to save circa £150K!! A bit short sighted if you ask me. I just hope we don't live to regret it.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Add McGoldrick to the list and we're on the same wavelength. I would rather we played these lads and finished mid table. At least we would be achieving something in giving them first team experience. Who knows how good they might be next year and it would save us a fortune in the summer when we end up buying a load of has been journeymen.

However after digesting the info i think this may not be as bad as it seems.

The board may have let them go so that they could get into euro2008? But it may also be so that if we do get a new manager soon he will have some wages to play with to enable him to get in some loans in the up and coming loan window?

Also, as has been mentioned previously, we all rave about our youth acadamy, it's time we used it! Lancashire, McGoldrick, Llalana, Baseya etc. do well in the reservers, give them their chance. After all they can't be any worse than Jermaine Sh1te!!

Just watch him score hatfuls of goals for Bolton - they don't bother with all that patient build-up nonsense like we do and he'll thrive in a more direct team.
Should have cashed in on Surman instead - he's far too lightweight for the Championship.

Glad to see the back of these two underachievers. They should have done more for this club and help us mount a challenge this year. Skacel was the biggest disappointment, coming to us with a big reputation he has never delivered and adds to the list of failed number 7's (
Kanchelskis!) since we decided not to retire the shirt after Le God. As for Rasiak, good goal ratio but never contributed as much as say Beattie used to. He will struggle in the Prem. The one I am concerned about keeping is Dyer, injured now, but contract up in the summer. It's time to start again and promoted some of the kids we hear so much about.

Rasiak is a half decent Championship player and thats all. He played for my team Derby a few seasons ago and did enough for Tottenham to sign him up for a couple of million but never really did anything for them, and then joined saints who were already in the Championship. He will score goals at this second level but not in the Prem as the standard now is even greater than when he was there a few seasons ago.

Question for Saints fans. If you had beat us and got into te Prem last season how do you think you would have fared. We have had an almighty struggle as you are aware but I feel it would have been a similar fate had any of the other 3 in the play offs been promoted. Its all about investment which we didnt follow up once promoted and here we are rock botom.

CAN YOU LEARN FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF OTHERS?

When Pompey were facing relegation, they did not sit around in front of computer screens, bellyaching to one another, saying what a wicket world it was, the got off their rear-ends and contributed to a fund to buy the club.

A prospective owner was attracted to a club that had fans that would do something other than whinge about the Chairman, the manager, the ex-managers, the players and the tea lady. He knew that, with fans that were prepared to be POSITIVE rather than NEGATIVE, he could rebuild the club.

Between us, we went from old First Division strugglers, to top-half of the Premier League.

Liverpool! Their fans are not happy with their owners, so they are starting a find for a £500,000,000 yes FIVE HUNDRED MILLION POUND buy out. Not whinging to a site like this, but taking positive action.

Your City once claimed to be 'The gateway to the Empire'. Thousands, if not millions must have left these shores from your docks. Their last sight of England.

Its all about investment which we didnt follow up once promoted and here we are rock botom. your thoughts.
Hate to say it Parky, but I think you're right, we would have struggled in the Prem this season. The gap between Championship and Premiership football is getting so much bigger that every year the it's more likely that even if you've blitzed the Championship, you'll struggle in the Prem.

Knowing SFC, they might not have attracted any decent investment and even then, being a club coming up through the play-offs, you don't always attract decent players to keep you in the Premiership.

From one football fan to another, I feel bad for you but I'm kinda glad it's not us. All you can do is build on it for next year to try again.

That's if we don't get there first..... ;-)

Saints need a new manager asap, Coleman is the man - he needs to get the team fit, doesnt have to be pretty football in the championship, grind out results through hard work. I hate to say it, but Warnock got it right, when he went in at Palace and threw in the youngsters, they wanted to impress. Has-beens like Jermaine Wright....and esp Powell (what an absolute joke) will have to up their game or face playing in the reserves.

Coleman has said he doesn't want the job, who does with the club on the brink of administration. Forced to let the best players go out on loan, desperate for loan fees and to reduce the wage bill. No point in appointing a new manager as Saints can't afford
his wages. Might as well wait until after administration and relegation so the new manager can start from scratch.

Rudi has never been the "force" every one said he would be (rather Neil MCcan was he not?).Rasiak looked like he was a 20 a day man.

We have very little change of going up this year, so all the new guy has to do is keep us up (should be easy in theory) and plan for next year.

Staying away, no matter how bad we feel, is not helping.

I think last night and this morning is the time when reality has really set in for many Saints fans, including me.

We really are desperate cash wise. Watching our friends down the road sign Defoe and keep their other £8 million man while we off-load two of our best players without an immediate fee, just to cut the wage bill.

It's also a sad explanation for the sudden motivation of Rasiak and Skacel in midweek.

I agree that we probably can't afford to bring in a new manager on this evidence and I doubt we would attract a decent candidate anyway.

Coleman was on TV talking about the importance of having a good relationship with the chairman, so that pretty much rules him out.

What last night did do was to give us all a taste of how Burley must have felt every transfer window.

We've got no manager to blame now, so it becomes even more obvious where the root of the problem lies.

In this environment, how could we expect the fans manager and players to be confident and motivated.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to fight, but that's exactly the spirit a new manager will need to bring.

I think we're all just sitting around waiting for a miracle to happen, but I only hope the board is taking a proactive approach to doing just that before any attraction the club could have to potential investors is lost.

Is anyone really surprised at the players going out on loan? Until we get a 'Sugar Daddy' then drastic action by the board has got to be taken.

Relegation from the Premier league and failure to get back up within two years is the reason for our plight. Yes, there are reasons behind our demise, but until someone or a consortium arrives on our doorstep, we will continue on this rocky road. It is a fact of life now that MONEY is driving football. Yes, we all want success, a new manager, but until our financial plight is solved, we will remain in the doldrums.

Nothing would please us all to see the Saints rising out of the storm we are stuck in, but come on Saints fans, all we can do is support the club by turning up every week and paying our money. Three times over the last four weeks i have completed a round trip of 160 miles. A trip costs me about £50.00 a time.

One idea.... DROP PRICES a little and fill the ground. WE ARE THE TWELVE MAN WHO CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. The money will balance and what a fantastic atmosphere.

Just typical of new wave saints fans. They don't know whats good for the club. Last season on Rasiak's back even though he was nearing the top scorer in the league and they moan he only scores goals. Where would we have been without the goals - about 14th or lower? The moaners wanted someone more athletic saying they would score the goals easily if played instead of Rasiak - well look whats happened this year 8 goals from BWP who doesn't know what the offside rule is. I prefer the "lazy" guy who scored about 20 by this time last year. At least Rasiak knew how to get into a good position without wasting good build up play by not watching the defensive line.
No wonder he's gone - what more could you ask for when you pay 2m.

Also Skacel not living up to his potential - again last season on the wing he was one of the highest ranked left wingers in the league. More assists than any other player in the team. Doesn't get enough football this year and played in defence and he is now branded a failure. Quite frankly he will be missed because we have already missed a good winger with dangerous crosses this season.

The reason they both left is because they weren't getting first team football week in week out. Can somebody honestly tell me who has been better on the left wing and up front.

All those calling for the kids to play - don't worry next year the team will all be kids. By the time they hit form we will have about 9000 through the gates each week in League 1.

I don't agree we would have struggled like Derby in the prem - maybe struggled but at least we were playing good football as opposed to long ball physical play which is why they've been so poor this season.

I expect silence from the moaners when we get beat tommorrow as they've got what they want in terms of team selection.

If Crouch is so bothered about new investment then he should ask his great mate Trant about his phoney promises to money into the club. As witnessed by many Saints fans in the Northam Club, June 2006.

On a positive note, it's good to see Dodd and Gorman seem to have a better understanding of our strongest team.

It was fairly obvious that, without Dyer available, we need BWP's pace, but he's not worth a striking place.

They recognised that and went for the three, with one tucking into midfield when needed, so fair play. Just depends whether Saga can now step up and convince us he's actually worth a place in that formation, but I'd like to think he'd be worth a decent run, which is more than he's had all season.

That gives me faith that Viafara and Safri will form our central partnership when fit, with Surman or Hammill slotting in on the wing and BWP on the other side.

Then there's Dyer to come back and McGoldrick to come in.

So actually, things don't look that bad as long as we don't have too many injuries at the back.

A new keeper would help though.

Spot on Jason! How many of the people moaning about all things Saints were actually at the game on Tuesday?

If they were they would have seen a team that at last seemed to be playing with some belief! OK I know some of you will say "yes but we stil lost" but I came away from SMS the other night frustrated that our luck was not in. I was not frustrated at the lack of effort (apart from maybe Rasiak - how coincidental!) The league dosen't lie, we are in this position because we are. It's pointless balming Lowe for our present predicament, though I fear he lacked the leadership required to stand up to the more moronic of the fans and the inevitable back-stabbing by those who felt over-looked*. That happens in all organisations.

But, that was then and this is now. We now have an opportunity to choose carefully managers who will firstly stop the rot, consolidate our position and then push ahead too see if we can regain a Premiership place. You will note I used the plural as I doubt if the Saint's could afford one capable of doing all three.

I doubt if I shall be renewing my season ticket, not because of either its value or my loyalty, but because fuel is now over £1.00 a litre and it's over 400 miles round trip to every home game.

I'm less worried by the loss of Rasiak (not played much in recent months anyway) and Scacel (ineffective from day one) than the failure to strengthen both the midfield (our real problem area - how does Euell get a regular game?!) and defence (too many injury prone players)during the transfer window. The acquisition of Davies is the best we've made in a long time. O'Halloran seemed to lack pace on his brief appearance on Tuesday.

''Gregorz Raziak and Rudi Scacel both played starring roles in the 1-0 defeat working tirelessly in front of their prospective new employers'' - Saints website today - says it all! Why couldn't Burley motivate his players to play for their current employers?

The spiral of decline continues. Where's the new manager? Don't be surprised if Doddy and Gorman carry on until the end of the season, maybe until Hoddle is ready to come in.

YES, you seem to not like fans with a realistic view who have standards above your rock bottom standard, but do not let that bother you. Don't allow delusion to blur your vision!! I've not beed this season for that very reason, p*ssed off with being treated so poorly and p*ss poor football!!

There is too much fence sitting and too many heads in the sand - do NOT berate those who aren't so cowardly! We all need realism, passion and ambition in our forlorn club!

The club are not doing the best, under Burley and the dreaded Hone era (seizing power by appointing that complete ***** Oldknow, losing all the decent St Mary's staff & decent people behind the scenes) there was a plethora of poor decisions, whether it be the OTT physio laying half the squad off for 5x needs be, the goalie coach picking the line ups, Burley's inept man management and knowledge of his best 11 (did he ever know? Playing most out of position & lacking communication or defensive know-how), drinking accusations, unfit squad, good players dropped over alleged fallings out with management, players brought in and not played, any player showing form instantly sold, internal bickering & messing up the supposed initial takeover approach we had (which I believe due to various sources I, myself know)...SFC f*ck everything up!!

The club 'have' treated the fans extremely poorly (Esp. while Hone and co were around, arrogance of the highest order, only in it for themselves) and the club don't deserve the attendances they have had. It's been insulting - the inane manager statements of the past and meaningless reports released to the press or any of the few inane news threads posted on the SFC site all paramount to a club in dire straits. A lot of work needs doing. I believe Crouch could be a man to take us forwards, if we can attain investment or some sort of financial backing. Wilde had helped us in no way whatsoever. I still believe if he put some money up, Crouch would have done the same but that's old news now. Let us have some passion on the field and sincerity & transparency from the club. Damage needs repairing but I do believe there is some potential if the elusive finances can be bolstered in some form along with good leadership, on the pitch AND in the boardroom - Saints need not be a club giving players and execs an easy life, at the expense of the fans It just needs effort, stop taking the p*ss out of our club!

As I thought, only Mick (at 12.30) had a positive response.
The rest? Probably including you! Want something done! Want money spent! Want someone to buy your club! Want investment! Want new players!

BUT WANT IT ALL DONE BY SOMEONE ELSE!

If something is worth fighting for, you have to get together and do something yourselves, rather than wait for someone to come along and do it for you.

To make things happen you have to make it happen, not wait until it is to late, and then moan because someone else didn't do anything.

So Kdog, what do YOU intend to do?

If I were a betting man, my money would go on
NOTHING!

Its all about investment which we didnt follow up once promoted and here we are rock botom. your thoughts.

We would probably have struggled the same as you without a lot of investment, which would may well not have been forthcoming. We did have a couple of premiership quality players, though not any more! The future looks a lot brighter for Derby now. We won't be able to compete with the likes of you and QPR next season unless some investment happens pretty soon.

I will still get my season ticket. You seem to think that because I will continue to support the club through this lean period (through attendance and an extra season ticket sale) and you will not support the team through this lean period (through attendance and an extra season ticket sale) that I have many flaws. I can assure you -

I am not deluded.

What have the new lot done since Lowe left?

Whether the club is worthy of our support or not isn't really the point - the point is we all support this club because of various things, locality, history, etc. (Personally, my Dad has brainwashed me into also supporting SFC - I started off as a Spurs fan when I was 8!!)

It's not that easy not to care any more. Maybe I haven't been a fan long enough (only my second year as a season ticket holder) to have known the really good times but I will continue to support them, in the hope that one day they'll be having more good times.

Shaun,
I watched the same game as you but we have different opinions in what we witnessed.
I saw a team who seemed to play with a bit more passion than I have seen all season; we passed and moved the ball a lot better than before; players were in their correct positions - which is a novelty this season; we battered Norwrich for 90 minutes and we did not deserve to get beat; I left the game feeling positive despite defeat, previously I left suicidal!
We are in the cr*p, but what else can we do apart from support the manager, whoever that is and if it is John Gorman, then I will support him based on what I saw on Tuesday!
If you feel that bad about things, don't renew for next season but I will be doing that!
Keep the faith!

Ive supported the club for 35yrs and i cant remember a time when weve been in this kind of mess. The board seem clueless, lets hope now they've had their little clear out we can get a manager and move forward. Blood some of the kids, and take the transfer money in the summer to shuffle the pack. We need to rebuild from the bottom up, people must realise it may take 5 yrs to get back up but if we plan properly then when we do we may stand a chance of staying there.
I love this club, lets hope some people inside SMS feel the same way.

Disgraceful! Getting rid of two of our better players before a new manager comes in (if one ever does). I really don't think the board has a clue, they still think we've got a sqaud worthy of reaching the playoffs. Rasiak whether you like him or not, will get you 20+ goals in this league. Skacel hasn't lived up to the hype since he came here, but maybe a new manager would be able to get the the best out of him. I just hope we win on saturday, co we're only 7 points off relegation. Your City once claimed to be \'The gateway to the Empire\'. Thousands, if not millions must have left these shores from your docks. Their last sight of England. If you got off your backsides and did something other than moan about the board, moan about the managers, past and present, and moan about the players, past and present, maybe, just maybe your future would be brighter. Instead of bleating about the board not spending money - set them a good example, PUT YOUR HANDS IN YOUR POCKETS AND START A BUY-OUT FUND. If you are not prepared to do that yourselves, how in heavens name can you criticise anyone else for being tight with money. Just imagine, if you all spent the equivalent of \'the minimum wage\' for every hour spent on this and other sites, you would be off to a good start! THINK ABOUT IT!
Sailor sam actually makes a bit of sense, the club has no money, the players are crap, and the whole set up stinks, there is no way forward without investment and honest commitment.Where would that come from other than the supporters! and by the way I am a sfc supporter but also a realist
Sam didnt i read last week that your sugar daddy owner is putting your club and the shed they play in up for sale, how many will put their hands in their pockets for that do you think. Dark days ahead both sides of the water me thinks.
Keep telling yourself that all the way to league one phil! It really looks dark for the blues with Defoe and Baros coming in to boost the already high quality squad. Europe here we come, Yeovil and Gillingham for you lot! Wahoo!
Europe, now thats funny, you will be lucky in finnishing in the top-half, and thats not a dig.

As for Defoe, why get excited over an avarage player who could not get into a Spurs team that were bottom of the league not so long ago.

Still when he has to pick up all that dog-**** and all those used condoms from your state of the art training complex, he will be reminding himself why he turned you down so many times before.

You have signed an average player who was left with no alternative but to sign.

As for Baros, yet another player no-one wanted, pompey get all the scraps.

Right so the last board (who have resigned thank God) say that if we dont sell we´ll be in administration. Then we buy a player for 1 million. Then we offload our best striker on loan because we have money problems. This is schoolboy mathetics, who the hell have we got in control of this place? Cant seem to make theyre minds up.

Our Financial Position is neither good or bad.

If we are close to administration we would have sold not loaned,

Both Rasiak and Skacel want EURO 2008 action so they are off and we save money.

The only real loser is the Government who lose Skacel tax

The fact is, Crouch needs to make more noise. I always thought the point of directors was that they put their OWN money into a football club.

We seem to have ended up with the only bunch in history that are looking for some other mug to do it without parting with a cent themselves. Are you surprised no-one's interested?

If the people that run Southampton Football Club reached into their own pockets occasionally then it might inspire confidence for others to invest, but who's going to get involved when those at the top show such little confidence in their own company?

This reaction to loaning two players is way over the top.
From the reaction you would have thought that Saints went into administration and had a ten point deduction yesterday FFS.
WE WERE MEANT TO BE GOING INTO ADMINISTRATION IN jANUARY, we have not, first hurdle cleared.
And if everyone believes Saints are skint, why loan two players, if you can sell them.
Both players WOULD HAVE BEEN SOLD yesterday if things were as bad as supporters are claiming.
Theres money out there waiting,unfourtunate
ly for Saints theres a lingering little fart who shall remain nameless who is stopping SFC moving forward.
You lot stuck with the club through all those good times, stick with them during the bad times, and stop being so negative all the time.
