EVERTON have sacked manager Frank Lampard less than two weeks after Saints' hugely crucial 2-1 victory at Goodison Park.

Lampard has been in charge of the Merseyside club for just under a year after joining in January 2022 but he has now been relieved of his duties with Everton sitting 19th in the Premier League table, level on points with Saints.

When the two sides met earlier this month, Everton took the lead in the first-half through Amadou Onana but James Ward-Prowse struck twice after the break to give Saints all three points.

Everton have managed just three wins all season and have lost nine of their last 12 league matches, the most recent of which came in a 2-0 defeat to fellow strugglers West Ham United.

The Toffees will now be searching for their sixth permanent manager in the last five years.
