FORMER Saints defender Alexander Ostlund has joined Danish top-flight club Esbjerg fB.
Saints released the 29 year-old Swedish international full-back at the end of last season when his contract came to an end.
And this week he signed a two-year deal at EfB, which runs until 2010.
Ostlund said: "I hoped initially to stay in England, where my family and I thrived, and I liked the football. But when that was no longer possible I looked to Scandinavian football, where the quality of the Danish league is the best.
"Now I aim to show Esbjerg and the club's fans what I can do. I got a very good impression of the city, club and coach when I was here."
Ostlund made 48 appearances in two and a half years at Saints following his arrival from Dutch First Division side Feyenoord.
Having moved to the Danish Superliga, he is likely to come up against a familiar face in Marek Saganowski.
The 29 year-old Polish striker was loaned out to defending Superliga champions Aalborg BK by Saints earlier this month.
