Jack Cork has made it a hat-trick of Saints players in under-21 action this week after his call-up to the England squad.

With Adam Lallana already with Stuart Pearce’s side for the two-legged European Championship qualifier against Wales, Cork was handed a pleasant surprise yesterday afternoon.

The withdrawal of Manchester City’s Micah Richards led Pearce to draft in Cork, who stands a chance of playing against Saints teammate Lloyd James, who will represent Wales in the first leg at Ninian Park on Friday night.

Nice one! Jack's played very well for us so far and it's amazing to think he's still only young!

But don't you think, with all his experience last season, on loan as a centre back, JP should be playing Cork in the middle of our defence instead of someone like Lancashire?

He is more experienced in the CCC than Michael Svensson, yet no one would contemplate playing MS at RB or in midfield.

Interested to see if and where he is played by Pearce.
