OLLIE Lancashire picked up his second red card of the season at Sheffield United last night but won’t get a hard time from his boss.
The 18-year-old centre half was dismissed a minute before the end of Saints’ 0-0 draw with the Blades at Bramall Lane for a second bookable offence as he tripped Danny Webber just outside the area.
Lancashire, who was previously sent off on his Saints debut at QPR, will pick up a one game ban but Jan Poortvliet believes if he wouldn’t have made that sacrifice Webber may well have scored and Saints would have lost a point.
He said: “I am very happy with Ollie Lancahsire because by conceding that free kick he made us a point. He had to give away that free kick and he got sent off."
