A HAMPSHIRE yacht firm is offering boat owners a way of beating the credit crunch.

Fairview Sailing has launched a recession-beating package, which it says will turn your boat from an expense to a “monthly money-earner”.

The Hamble-based charter company is offering to pay all the running costs if owners sign over their new Beneteau Oceanis 37 to the company.

Fairview director Paul Webb said: “The real cost of ownership of a new 37ft yacht is more than £14,000 a year if you moor it at a prime UK location. It is unforeseen and unplanned costs that hurt owners – we have seen it before in previous recessions.

“What our Fair Deal Yacht Ownership scheme does is convert an owner’s new yacht from being an expensive liability into a monthly money-earner.”

On top of the running costs the company will pay £6,900 a year while guaranteeing owners 60 days of use, including two weeks in August.
