YET another bidder has joined the race for Saints.
Reports suggest that Yorkshire based firm Gillico are prepared to spend £12.5m on buying Southampton Football Club.
Gillico have not completed due diligence and it is firmly believed that the both the Swiss consortium and the Worldwide Financial group are still the two front runners.
Very little is known about Gillico, who appear to have only been formed the day Saints' parent company went into administration.
Administrator Mark Fry, said in a statement: "We currently are very confident that a sale will be achieved and that this process will be concluded very shortly.
"In relation to information regarding new interested parties, we are now in an unusual situation whereby we are receiving offers from a number of other parties very late in the day, but are committed to getting the transaction completed with our current buyer.
"We are pleased that the Directors of the Football Club were able to take action that has enabled the staff to be paid for last month and once again would like to thank the Club and its staff for their continued support and patience."

You have to laugh! The fact that Gillico rhymes with Lowe made me laugh out loud. But in fairness it's about as logical as everything else that people are coming out with. ;-) Maybe it's an anagram of "aliens from alpha centauri are taking us over and will vapourize all earthlings that attend the first match" ... er um perhaps not.. too many letters. So come on then .. where are all the fake insiders who know everything about Gillico ... I can tell you as FACT that the bloke who sits next to me at work is married to someone who lived near my mother when I was a boy and she has definitely never heard of Gillico but did have a friend called Gillian, so therefore Lowe must be involved... or not. I'm going to miss this on line drivel when it's all over.

You guys are absolutely incredible. You are OBSESSED with Lowe. For goodness sake the guy has gone! I`ve spent the last 10 years following the club and attending games in a professional capacity and I`ve got to tell you the fans have to take their share of the responsibility for whats happened at the club. I was there when Peter Crouch made his debut and some of you chanted 'freak' at a guy coming onto the pitch for the first time! I`ve watched as so many of you sat there in stoney silence while a young team took to the field, and then the jeers started and the sighing and as a pass went astray. what the hell did THAT do for confidence and if you look at the away record last season (very good) and the home record (very poor no win in 15 games at one stage?) I think that bears that out! I was dismayed at the dreadful attendance as so many of you in your thousands stayed away.... ' because of Lowe' well .... well done to you all. Look what`s happened. I`m no great fan of Lowe`s myself but you have to face the facts. He was guilty of many mistakes but he is NOT the only one. If you look at the facts the board after Lowe left for the first time presided over the worst financial mis-management but all the fans were so obsessed with you know who that they were blind to it. So my message.... forget Lowe he is gone... gone.... gone... not coming back.... gone. Lets look to the future NOT the past.

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced that today it filed a civil injunctive action in federal district court in Columbus, Ohio accusing Dunyasha M. Yetts and his unregistered broker-dealer, Worldwide Financial Group, Inc., of defrauding at least fourteen investors of approximately $1.8 million from 1998 through early 2001. In a related action, the Commission also today filed a separate complaint in United States Bankruptcy Court in Columbus, Ohio, where Yetts is a debtor, seeking to prevent the discharge of a substantial portion of Yetts' indebtedness, approximately $1.8 million, incurred through securities fraud.

I do agree that maybe people shouldnt have stayed away but i can see why they did! And compared to alot of teams the Saints support is generally very good and very vocal especialy away from home! Ive lived and watched teams all over and Saints are up there! Hopefully now after a few years there will be unity within the fanbase and can enjoy going to SMS

Well after feeling suicidal last week, it looks like more positive news is round the corner. What bemuses me with the whole scenario is that supporters haven’t been more critical of Fry. He has made grave mistakes in the whole process of selling Southampton Football Club (ie Exclusivity agreements, all eggs in one basket!! Etc.). A lot have people have stuck up for Fry and his mickey mouse company. But personally having experienced Begbies Traynor at first hand (as they dealt with a company I used to work for going into administration), It wouldn’t surprise me if he had deliberately dragged his heels on the deal. I know for a fact that when in administration even admin staff are charged at over £100 pound per hour, Fry must be getting charged at least £250 per hour (which is guaranteed, even from donators money). It begs (pardon the pun) the question, would you drag the sale out if you were being paid that extortionate rate? Apologies for the negative post, but I have experience of “Blagbies Trailing” at first hand, and my impression was they didn’t know there arse from their elbow, yet they still walk away with around £20k, to wind up a £7 million turnover company in one week!! COYR!!

I had a dream last night that Grahan Le Saux was appointed manager of the Saints. Well this is more beleivable than everything else that has happened over the last few weeks.
On the positive side it is promising that Stern John want's a new contract and that Graham Murty is training with us. Both would be good signings for league 1. As for Kelvin Davis is he stumbling over a move to West Ham because he knows something is iminent at Saints? Good news!
Two people have come out with credit over the last few weeks, Mark Wotte for his dedication and professionalism in dire circumstances and Leon Crouch for continually dipping into his own pocket to bail out the Saints. Despite having huge respect for Leon as a fan I do not think he has Chairman potential. Sorry!
