But rocker Bryan Adams will be ditching his guitar and pulling on a set of oilskins after signing up to be a celebrity sailor during Cowes Week.
The Canadian rockstar, famous for hits Summer of ’69 and (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, is joining the Artemis Challenge, a celebrity round-the-island yacht race, next Wednesday.
In a return to the south coast just weeks after he played an exclusive concert at Southampton Guildhall, Adams will join up and coming Southampton singlehanded sailor Simon Clay onboard 60ft state-of-the-art yacht Artemis The Profit Hunter.
The skippers will blast round the Island in Open 60 yachts in pursuit of a £10,000 prize fund, donated to the winning skipper’s charity of choice.
