SAINTS have completed the signing of Tunisian international defender Radhi Jaidi.
The 34-year-old agreed a two year deal at St Mary’s late last night and was the only player in or out of the club on a much quieter than expected transfer window deadline day.
Saints boss Alan Pardew had been chasing Jaidi for some time but the deal was originally held up by complications with his work permit.
Now that has been sorted he just needs to wait for the formalities of work permit clearance from the Football League and at that point his contract with Saints will officially begin.
Jaidi said: “The first thing for me is the fact that Southampton is a big club and I have known that ever since I came to England.
“As soon as I was given the opportunity to come here I accepted because I know this club has a big infrastructure.”
