CHRIS Perry expressed Saints' relief at escaping the drop zone – and said they are now targeting a move towards the play-offs.
Veteran defender Perry helped Saints to a vital 1-0 win at home against Wycombe last night with a solid display at the heart of the back four.
The victory took Saints out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.
Perry said everyone was delighted to finally be out of it and added they were looking even further upwards now.
“It’s a weight off of everyone’s shoulders,” he said.
“Now we can look up and we’re not looking down at all.
“We’re not thinking about ever going back in there, we’re looking up now.
“With a win at Walsall on Saturday we can hopefully move somewhere close to mid-table.
“Once you get to mid-table over the Christmas period you can look to maybe push on towards playoffs."
