Which club is interested in Cortese?

Following the news that Saints chairman Nicola Cortese is coveted by an Italian club, rumours are rife as to which club it is.

In conversations in the past with the Echo, Cortese - who is a Swiss-Italian - has spoken of his 'excellent contacts' with a number of high profile sporting teams.

He listed a number of Italian clubs including AC Milan.

He used these links to great effect when Saints pulled off a transfer coup by securing Papa Waigo on loan from Fiorentina.

when we beat ac milan in the champions league in a couple of years it will be all the sweeter for NC then! :) I do not think that he is ging anywhere he will want to finish what he has started here!

In related news, Echo Editor Ian Murray has today been linked with a move to..... no where. No other paper would have him.

I am asking everyone to boycott this article as the Echo seem to have nothing of worthy news to write about.

News just in: On a previous thread, Mr Kerrins admirably defends his bosses at the echo and then foolishly publishes a 2 paragraph story of absolute pointless nothingness! Im sur if you had let the other thread run its corse then this topic would have been reached. For a while I have been on the echo's and Dans side. Dan did actually write me a very plesant e-mail with regards to getting involved with sports journalism. That said, todays blatent and petty swipe at the club and this pointless article has led me to side with the whiners and moaners. Drivel. Everyone to the Facebook group to discuss all things saints

a nothing article about nothing.
The Echo's spat with NC and the club have induced this garbage.
As a Saints fan, I for one am getting sick to the back teeth of the Echo's campaign against our club.
At one time you could expect the local paper to support the local club and reflect and represent local peoples views.
The Echo no longer has the confidence of Saints fans.
It has declared a PR war against the club, therefore it's declared war against us fans.. for the the club and fans are united as one.
You want war? You will get it.. starting with a complete boycott of your 'paper.'
I call for all Saints fans to align themselves with club against this rag.
They will, by their selfish, and scurrilous reporting alienate NC, maybe to the point of leaving.
That could be the signal for Markus to leave as well.

I laughed so much when i read this article i almost brought a lung up!!!.............it
's almost as rediculous as hearing Cristiano Ronaldo going to sign before the end of January. There's not a snowball's chance in hell Nicola Cortese is leaving St Mary's. He went to great lengths to get ML to invest in this club, and ML wanted to buy it on the basis that Cortese would join him here. I feel that they are both inexstricably linked, they are both honourable businessmen, and the are enjoying the challenge of taking this football club back into the best league in the world...the premiership!....and their not going to up stakes and run for it just because some bigger Italian club thinks it needs them......My adivice to everyone is enjoy the game tonight, enjoy the rest of the season, and enjoy the ride back to the premiership....mind u, having said all that it could be true.....hahahahahah

I have heard from a good source that NC is actually in talk with an Italian club in regards to becoming a feeder club for an Italian giant where they will get first choice on any of our decent prospects in exchange for loan deals for their up and coming stars.
Why the Echo is putting negative spin on this when it is a great time to be a saint is beyond me.
In NC we trust.....

Now wonder this paper gets all the criticism with pond dwelling articles like this. Come on dan you can do better than this. Your editor scewed up badly with the suchet stuff and you are now pouring more petrol on it.

Its so much tougher to come up with stories when saints are going well isn't it.

Unfortunalty the feel good factor does not sell papers.
