Portsmouth talks with HMRC hit problems

POMPEY'S last ditch talks to avoid a winding-up order appear to have stalled.

Sky Sports is reporting the discussions about a possible last minute deal have reached an impasse.

However Portsmouth are claiming the talks are continuing regardless.

If a deal cannot be done today, the club's representatives will be in court tomorrow, where a worst-case scenario would see the club cease to exist.

However a more likely outcome would see the club put into administration as the HMRC and other creditors try and recoup at least some of their debts.

Administration would be a good thing for Pompey to be honest...it was the same with Saints. We needed it to happen to clear our debts and get rid of the bad wood like Lowe.

It will not help Saints either because with administration and guaranteed relegation their players will be even more up for the FA Cup game! I'd warn any Saints supporters to tone down the goading as much as possible till after the final whistle of that game.

Bye bye Pompey and a bye in the FA Cup for Saints!

They will still play us if they go into administration though.

Win or draw tonight and a must win on saturday please AP!

Administration for any length of time I think would be a disaster for them. We only survived and didn't go into liquidation because Leon Crouch was pumping in cash to pay wages etc. Do they have their own version of Leon Crouch? If not I can't see them surviving the first pay-day

Better to go out fighting (i.e. spending a fair bit of money bringing in half-decent players) than go out not fighting at all (i.e. not buying any players, putting all our good players on loan and being foolish enough to think you'd, as one report at the time in the echo stated "walk the league" with a cheapo youth squad)

SO IN ESSENCE.....LOWE WAS THE INSTIGATOR OF OUR RELEGATION FROM THE PREMIERSHIP and anything after that was an attempt to correct HIS MISTAKES.....SO HE GOES, AGAIN, AND, IN THE NAME OF FISCAL PRUDENCY, RELEGATES US WITHOUT A FIGHT.

please re-think that Pugwash
