Ben’s crew notch up their first win at regatta

BEN Ainslie and his Team Origin crew mates shot up the leaderboard at the Louis Vuitton Auckland Trophy regatta last night after posting their first win.
After losing their opening race to Italian team Azzura, Hampshire star Ainslie came back in style with an impressive victory over French/German syndicate All4One.
The win moved them up into third position in the eight-boat fleet after two days of racing.
Team Origin tactician and fellow Hampshire sailor Iain Percy, said: “We had a great start. Ben and the boys gave us a nice advantage off the line and picked the right side of the first beat.
“Despite being in the lead throughout the race, it was a scary one as we were seeing 30-40 degree wind shifts.
“We kept our cool and sailed a good race, in those conditions it is easier from the front.”
