Adams epic sets new Hants record

Jimmy Adams batted for more than TEN hours - the longest Hampshire innings since records began – before admitting: "I’ve got mixed feelings."

When the Hampshire batsman was finally out yesterday afternoon, having begun his marathon 194 against Lancashire on Wednesday evening, he hoped to have secured a valuable LV= County Championship draw at Liverpool.

But in a dramatic finish, Hampshire lost off the penultimate ball of the match as Lancashire chased down the 168 they needed in 33 overs.

Adams said: "It’s nice to have some form going into the last two games but it’s frustrating to score runs and not get the right result. I’ve got mixed feelings."

Wow another stunning innings for Jimmy how can England ignore him now? I don't know what more he would have to do to get picked, at least for the Lions this winter. Well done to Briggsy for keeping Jimmy in. Brilliant partnership.

WELL DONE BOYS

I was there. It was a truly magnificent innings despite being in a losing cause. It certainly made the Lancashire supporters sweat a bit. An England call up must be imminent.
