CLASSICAL singer Katherine Jenkins will be one of the star names gracing this year’s PSP Southampton Boat Show.

The Welsh mezzo-soprano and classical Brit award winner will mark the global launch of a new vessel with a performance of songs from her current album Believe on Friday, September 10.

She will be on board Sunseeker’s 40 Metre Yacht for the cutting of the ribbon ceremony.

Miss Jenkins made her name through her popular classical albums, six of which have reached number one in the classical charts, selling a total of more than four million copies.

Sunseeker founder, Robert Braithwaite, said: “Katherine Jenkins is the perfect person to launch our majestic new vessel at the PSP Southampton Boat Show.

“Like the Sunseeker 40 Metre Yacht, she is a performer of great beauty, elegance and style.”

The Boat Show, at Southampton’s Mayflower Park, runs from September 10 to September 19 with over 1,000 boats and 500 exhibitors.

In its 50th year, the biggest water-based boat show in Europe is expected to attract thousands with a whole range of activities including free boat trips, sample scuba diving and stage shows.

It is also the chance to be among the first to see the latest gadgets and equipment from the industry.

Iconic brand and luxury motor yacht manufacturer Sunseeker is based in Poole and has been running since 1979.

It will be debuting both the 40 Metre Yacht and the new Manhattan 63 at the boat show.

A further nine Sunseeker craft will also be on display, including the 80 Yacht and the Portofino 48 at the Sunseeker stand, as well as three vessels on the pontoon, including the 88 Yacht and the 30 Metre Yacht.
