THE 2011 Kevin Moore Golf Day is just a month away – and there is still time to book your place alongside a host of Saints legends.

Former Dell defender Moore, 53, who scored in the 1992 Zenith Data Systems Cup final at Wembley, suffers from a rare form of dementia, called Pick’s Disease.

The fans’ favourite, pictured in his saints heyday, now spends much of his time confined to a wheelchair and requires 24-hour care.

In order to help his family pay for that, the Kevin Moore Benefit Fund was set up in 2010.

Since its inception, a host of events have been held to raise vital cash.

And organisers have now arranged a second annual golf day, which will take place at Meon Valley, on Friday, October 7.

Once again, many of Moore’s former teammates and friends have given up their time to play, and captain a team.

Last year, more than £17,000 was raised, and it is hoped that the latest event will be equally successful.

Richard Becheley, who is organising the day along with Lisa Catlin and Ian Ritchie, said: “We had such a wonderful response last year, and we really hope that we can match it this time around.”

Saints legend Matt Le Tissier is organising the captains.

He has already rounded up ex-players Jimmy Case, Nick Holmes, Iain Dowie, Francis Benali, Glenn Cockerill, Nicky Banger, Gordon Watson and Mark Blake.

Former Saints manager Dave Jones will also captain a side, while other names from the sporting world will be present.

Teams of three, which will each be assigned a celebrity captain, cost £350. The price includes coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, as well as tickets to the evening dinner, which will be hosted by Mike Osman, who has donated his services for free.

A number of fantastic auction prizes have already been donated, including a day with Mick Channon, at his West Ilsley stables, and a trip to the Sky Sports studios to see the live filming of a show.

Organisers are also appealing for anyone who would be willing to donate a prize themselves.
