ORGANISERS of the Kevin Moore Golf Day are asking for volunteers to help them with the event.

This year’s annual tournament will be held at Meon Valley this Friday (October 7).

The money raised from it will go towards helping Moore, who suffers from Pick’s Disease – a rare form of dementia.

The 53-year-old now lives in the White House care home, in Curdridge, and spends much of his time confined to a wheelchair.

Friends, family, fans and former teammates will all gather at Meon Valley next week for the golf day. But organisers are appealing for help.

They require four volunteers to oversee the hole-in-one competition holes on the course, and another to look after the putting contest.

All five must be non-participants in the day, and at least 21-years-old.

Each volunteer will receive a free place at the evening meal, which includes an auction and prize draw, all compered by comedian Mike Osman, who has donated his services free of charge.

Richard Becheley, one of the people organising the event, said: “It’s a good day for any Saints fans, as you will get to meet lots of former players and managers.”

Matt Le Tissier, Jimmy Case, Francis Benali, Dave Jones, Iain Dowie and Nick Holmes are just some of the names set to play.
