Saints face Championship hotshots

Saints will host the Championship’s hottest away side this weekend, as they look to arrest their sliding home form.

Surging play-off chasers Burnley visit St Mary’s on Saturday having won five of their last six road games.

And they will travel to face a Saints team that is suddenly struggling on their own patch.

Tuesday’s 3-2 FA Cup defeat against Millwall extended the club’s winless home run to four matches.

The air of invincibility that Saints have enjoyed at St Mary’s for much of the season is no longer so apparent.

And Burnley will hardly make for welcome guests as Nigel Adkin's men look to turn things around.

Perfect opportunity to get some momentum going again. Win against a form side with Sharpe and Lee getting their first goals. Lets get behind the team and be the 12th man. COYR

Saints really need to put a shift in on Saturday. No doubt that Jay Rod will score! We can do this though. Keep it tight at the back and fluid elsewhere and we should get those all important 3 points. COYRs

We will win on Saturday and take at least a point from West Ham.

The team has belief, the injuries are disappearing.

We play the best football in this league.

We have a squad to die for.

Show some backbone people !!!

Support the team... stop acting like jittery old whingers and see what we have here.

We will break away from the pack starting this weekend and start a run that will see us promoted with three games to spare.

You heard it here first.

You know it makes sense.

I met Tadanari yesterday. Poor chap doesn't speak a word of English. I know he speaks the language of football but come on how can he communicate to his fellow team mates about where he wants the ball etc..

I hope I'll be there to see us win and won't be still hunting for my troublesome cocker spaniel Fenton who's done a runner.

In hindsight I should never have allowed him to listen to the TV news. He was only partly relieved to hear that Harry's dog Rosie's bank account was declared innocuous. This at least eased his mind about his 'life savings' - dozens of bones buried secretly in our garden.

But I'm sure that what's really playing on his mind is the 'bung' he took sneakily from the water collection barrel in our garden last summer. He has also heard me singing 'Pay Up Poopee'
and I suspect he's got it into his head that his numerous daily excretions are taxable activities. There was the usual queue of four or five dogs at the solitary lamp post in our street yesterday morning and for the first time ever he refused to join it.

I have explained to him that he has nothing to worry about, especially with his abysmal reading, writing and organisational skills. I also told him that, despite the huge resources devoted to it, the chances of HMRC ever winning anything against Poopee or anyone associated with it seem to be slimmer than Tiddlesborough United's chances would be of beating Barcelona 9-0.

I suspect Fenton will be back before long as I see he's left his secret stash of puppy treats under his bed cushioning.

Bit of a 'geezer' our Fenton, but if I miss the Burnley match on his account he'll regret it.

In their last 5 games Burnley have had these results. Draw at home vs Peterborough 1-1. Before that they won away at Forest 2-0. Before that they drew at home to Derby 0-0. Before that they won away at M'brough 2-0 and then lost away at Leeds 2-1.
.
So, their results are not that good and certainly are there for the taking on Saturday. After the disappointment of Tuesday it's time for us all to get behind the team and show the support the players have become accustomed to.
.
Lets roar on the mighty saints to victory!! COYRS!!

Saturdays game will be a real litmus test of out promotional credentials. Everyone is back on the bus now and we play the best football in the division, though not always the mosty effective. If we win, and I believe we will comfortably, then we have every chance of going on and winning the division. Form is returning and the last two league games showed a return to dominant play. If we lose its heart in mouths time and a scrap to stay in the play off race.
Enjoy the uncertainty of football and celebrate all the more when we win.

We just do not defend well enough and although Martin seemingly comes in for in for a lot of stick it is also very much the case with Fonte and Hooiveld. Simples .......every goal conceded needs two in reply. Chaplow back will help although he will need a couple of games to return to his best. Win Saturday and get set up for an overrated (just as we were) WH

It's aimed at Puncheon, who twittered that alot of Saints fans didn't know what they were talking about, and made him laugh..."clowns" he called them. Dualsy is just explaining to JP that he has to work long and hard to pay to go and see JP and his team-mates play. He has a point.I am not sure why Dualsy is still bitter about Puncheon's remark. Time to move on, mate?

Not Simples ........should have been every "first" goal - in other words lets have some clean sheets. We just do not seem to have the heart to defend as if it REALLY matters and is that why, at the other end, corners are not an advantage?
