AFC Totton striker Michael Charles has returned to his old club Farnborough on a month’s loan.
With new signing Ryan Moss primed to make his debut at Hitchin Town tomorrow, manager Stuart Ritchie had more frontline talent than he knew what to do with.
“We’ve got six strikers and something had to give,” he said. “With Mossy signing, it’s put a bit of pressure on the other lads.
“Charlesy’s been in and out of the team and going to Farnborough gives him the opportunity to play some games.
“It’s near his home and he played for Farnborough as a kid and went up through the ranks with them.
“He’s got a bit of passion for Totton, but this gives him the chance to go back to where he started.
“It’s only for a month initially but, if he does well, perhaps he’ll stay.
“Charlesy’s a good lad, but it’s football and you can’t get too sentimental about it. You have to move on.”
