NIGEL Adkins believes his Saints squad is looking strong ahead of their final 16 matches.
A host of key stars have been welcomed back in recent weeks and the manager was able to select from an almost fully-fit group at the weekend.
The result was a comfortable 2-0 victory over Burnley that has boosted confidence for the rest of the promotion push.
Adkins believes Saints are now well-set for the last two-and-a-half months of the campaign.
“Obviously, players are now all fit and available and fighting for positions,” he said.
“The unity among the players is there for all to see. It’s not just about 11, it’s about the whole group.
“They all want to be in that starting 11 now, but we have got a strong squad.
“We’ve now arrived at the latter stages of the campaign, and I believe we’re very strong as a unit in mentality, and strong with the players we’ve got, to deal with the situations that will arise with playing every three or four days now.”

Whilst not wishing to see Pompey fold and not finish the season with the results of matches played declared null and void, it is worth noting that WHU would lose 6 points and Saints only 1.

Tomorrow is a big match. Everyone knows that. If we play as well as we know we can we should win tomorrow night. We have a fully fit squad. We have new players vying for selection, plus established players regaining their composure and match fitness. West Ham have big guys at the back to challenge Ricky but that didnt stop us beating them at St Marys. We have also regained our passing game as seen against Burnley, and regained our strength in defence.
West Ham are more worried about this game than we are. They are erratic and they simply do not have the depth of quality in their squad that we have.
I think we will win 1-0 and I restate my prediction that we will get automatic promotion with three games to spare. Sixteen matches left and I think we will win eleven of them. Maybe more.

I agree with SaintsJosh at 0946am. Guly always seems to get rid of the ball as soon as he receives it, rather than creating a run or move, often playing the recipient into a difficult decision. However he does occasionally score!

They have a history of being financially mis managed and although I wouldn't wish it literally on our worse enemies, something needs to be done with them. Agree with bill that how many trades have got to suffer because of them? They are a complete mess and need to be stripped back to the bones to wipe the slate clean and pay ALL existing debts.

I agree with SaintsJosh at 0946am. Guly always seems to get rid of the ball as soon as he receives it, rather than creating a run or move, often playing the recipient into a difficult decision. However he does occasionally score!

It would appear that this site is about to taken over tonight by small minded vitriolic, so called fans revelling in Portsmouth's plight are you not Saints/football fans first isn't it about time you looked at our achievements thanks to ML/NC and rise above the so called rivalry that has been stoked by the media, do you not recall the agony that we went through, other teams such as Coventry, Brighton, Bournemouth, Torquay, Plymouth etc. all know the hurt of nearly losing their football club, as Red Army would say we are "SAINTS PRIDE OF THE SOUTHCOAST" so rise above it, let them wallow in their own misery we have more important issues for instance we have a very important match tomorrow night lets go for the more important issues such as joining the Premier league we have outgrown PFC we have left them behind they are history. So I ask you true Saints fans leave it out.
