Saints destroy Derby to regain top spot
SAINTS climbed back to the top of the Championship after demolishing Derby 4-0 at St Mary’s today.
Goals from Jos Hooiveld, Aaron Martin, Adam Lallana and Tadanari Lee lifted them above West Ham, who are not in action this weekend.
Saints are now two points clear of the Hammers at the head of the table, although they have played twice more than Sam Allardyce’s side.
Nigel Adkins’ men also lead third-placed Reading by five points, with the Royals holding one game in hand on them.
And Saints received an extra boost today, as fourth-placed Cardiff slipped up 3-0 at Ipswich.

Everything came from the changed build up from the back. No more square balls across the back four and mid field. Much more direct with Kelvin kicking out of his hands to Sharp And Rickie.
When we play like this the opposition can't close us down at the back and in mid-field. Long may we play this more direct game of football. When the ball is in their half we can score. They can't.

No one wants to see a club fold and you won't, just drop thru the leagues but we don't feel sorry either. I would of thought rather being on a saints forum you would be on your own trying to figure a way of getting your club out of the hole it's in.

As regards that lot down the road they are getting what they deserve.This is the second time in 2 years they have gone into administration,i think a 20 point deduction should be given.These last couple of days have been great for all Saints fans.They laughed at us perhaps we will have the last laugh.

However, I think the club are in more trouble than even they know. Last time they went into admin, HMRC rightly challenged the CVA on the grounds that the miniscule payment to them of 20p in the £ was wrong. Their objection was ignored. Surely they will challenge again and now be able to say, 'we were proven right'. It will be hard to deny them a second time.

Lambert has dropped deep which means he played up front on his own for long periods and on top of his goal he showed class when he got the ball. I hate to say it but he looked sharper than Sharpe. I'de say give Chung a chance! Let Billy play the impact sub.
