Totton chairman Shephard resigns

AFC Totton last night announced the resignation of chairman Phil Shephard for personal reasons.

The role of acting chairman will be taken by current vice-chairman Paul Wallace for the foreseeable future.

A club statement said: "We would like to thank Phil for the significant contribution he has made over the past two years during a period of major success for AFC Totton."

The Stags have also confirmed the signing of goalkeeper James Bittner on loan from Forest Green Rovers. He is expected to go straight into the squad for tonight's Evo-Stik Southern Premier trip to struggling Swindon Supermarine.
