Lambert backed for top flight success
8:44am Tuesday 10th April 2012 in Sport
RICKIE LAMBERT
Rickie Lambert WILL score goals in the Premier League next season.
That was the view of Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman after Lambert’s double had given Saints a 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park yesterday.
Lambert now has 30 league and cup goals to his name this term, including 26 in the league.
Freedman admitted: "Rickie Lambert was the difference.
"He has experience and if I was a betting man I'd say he'll produce a few goals in the Premier League.
"The first goal was against the run of play and was a bitter pill to swallow.
"But I'm very happy with our performance. We gave it a right good go with six youngsters against a top team."

Irons, Hammers doesnt matter we are still six points clear with 4 to play. A win at Peterbourough and Home to Cov will be enough for automatic promotion. Friday is basically the title decider

Better that the other options like Welbeck, Zamora etc.

The same idiots were suggesting last year that he'd not succeed above League 1.
I strongly feel (and I say this as one of his biggest supporters) that his biggest problem for casual assessors is that he runs like a carthorse. Makes him LOOK slow. The fact that he always ends up in the right place at the right time belies that myth.

Teams in this division defend his dead balls better but in open play he is a nightmare for central defenders.
Boogie Freedman overlooked the fact that Hammond and Chaplow were the key to this win.Deano has lead by example for the last 2,Chappers was back to what he does best.
Fonte looked back to his best as well, overall a great all round performance by the whole team. 7 out of 10 all round, IMO.
Together as one. COYR.

I heard that RL has (or will) be the only player to pick up the Golden Boot from 3 different divisions L2 L1 Championship... is this correct?

Dont forget Billy Sharp has won the golden boot twice in League 1 same as Rickie. If Brghton doesnt get promotion makes sense to take a punt on Craig Mackail-Smith
