This incident has smacks of Cortese all over it -the transfer of that Rangers guy Saints were sniffing around probably didn't come through so gnarly Nicola drop kicks his dummy in usual spiteful style.

Not sure that's true - pure conjecture but it's a stereotypical trait of behaviour of a leader devoid of empathy - the way they wanted to appoint Adkins & stitch Scunny (luckily Nigel had more integrity). I find it bizarre how a man with alleged millions in the bank refuses to pay rent to a family lending you their home. How do you repay them? By trashing all the furniture. Not the behaviour of a gentleman or a good ambassador. How do you get so unpopular and nasty? Playing god so much they look down on working classes or develop such arrogance and disdain in the social circles of money lenders since they are generally complete t*ssers. Bunch of bankers I suppose. Look at the history of the Rothschilds, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Rockefellas and more recently this week, Barclays Bank. Law unto themselves and detached from reality and never fly straight, playing god without little empathy for real people. I hope that Barclays boss suffers. Arrogant b*stard!

Rangers' withdrawl from Markus Liebherr Memorial Trophy not their decision

Tournament change decision not made by Rangers Tournament change decision not made by Rangers

RANGERS have confirmed that it was not their decision to be removed from the Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup.

Saints announced on Tuesday night that Anderlecht were replacing the troubled Scottish giants in the three-team pre-season tournament, which also features Arsenal.

A statement released by Rangers yesterday said: “Southampton informed us last night (Tuesday) they could no longer offer us a place at the tournament.

“A statement on their website then revealed Anderlecht were replacing us.”

Saints had said the reason for the change in teams was “due to the well-publicised circumstances surrounding the Scottish side.”

They also added that the decision had “not been made lightly”

and was “reached with the integrity of the competition in mind.”

Rangers, who have reformed as a ‘newco’ following the liquidation of the original company earlier this month, are set to be kicked out of the Scottish Premier League.

They have also seen a number of key first-team players attempt to walk away from the club by objecting to their contracts being transferred.

Only a few days ago, though, Rangers had been privately indicating they did not expect the issues at the club to have any effect on their participation in the Memorial Cup.
