  • "I wouldn't have Jenas in my side ahead of Cork or Schneiderlin. I hope something does happen soon the days are ticking by and also the £25 quid for the Liebherr cup at present is not very appealing but i'm sure a couple of signings could change that"

Saints' £2m screen test

NIGEL ADKINS NIGEL ADKINS

Saints are already counting the Premier League cash after being handed four live TV dates inside the first three months of the season.

The club will bank just shy of £2m from the facility fees for those games alone, with plenty more money rolling into their coffers.

Nigel Adkins’ men start their season at champions Manchester City and, unsurprisingly, that game has been selected for live viewing in Sky Sports’ prime 4pm slot on Sunday, August 19.

Also live on Sky within the first few weeks of the season is the St Mary’s clash with Manchester United, which now takes place on Sunday, September 2, also with a 4pm kick-off time.
