KP set for Hampshire return

Kevin PIetersen in Hampshire action Kevin PIetersen in Hampshire action

Kevin Pietersen will play his first game since being axed by England on Sunday - against Hampshire at West End.

Having been left out of the squad for the final Test against South Africa, Pietersen will return to his former county for the top-of-the-table Clydesdale Bank 40 Group B clash.

While England and South Africa contest the penultimate day of their Test series at Lord's, Pietersen will try to deny Hampshire a CB40 semi-final in the penultimate round of group games.

Pietersen was out to the first ball of Hampshire's t20 win at The Oval last month, but this will be his first appearance at West End since his final game for the Royals more than two years ago.

Hampshire need to win their remaining two CB40 group games to reach the last four.
